BIO OF RON LEACH - CASTING DIRECTOR, PRODUCER AND DIRECTOR - RON LEACH CASTING

For over thirty years, Casting Director, Producer and Director Ron Leach, has worked at the forefront of the Canadian Entertainment Industry. His master-classes in On-Camera Acting and Auditioning: “AUDITION DYNAMICS” are highly regarded by agents, managers and many of Canada’s brightest stars.  Ron produced the feature length documentary film “SHURTLEFF” on the renowned casting director and acting teacher; and the companion educational television series “AUDITION,” based on Michael Shurtleff’s best selling book.  He was the on-set acting coach for the PAX-NET television series “TWICE IN A LIFETIME;” produced and directed the best-selling “TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES” talking book series; and has taught his master-class “AUDITION DYNAMICS” at the world famous STRATFORD SHAKESPEAREAN FESTIVAL.  

Formerly a talent agent and personal manager with THE CHARACTERS TALENT AGENCY, Ron has also produced and directed many plays and workshops, most recently the critically acclaimed industry showcase “CAPTIVE AUDIENCE” at Toronto’s Buddies In Bad Times Theatre; was on the steering committee of the first TRADE FORUM of the TORONTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL and chaired the resulting seminars on Star Making in Canada; was Chairman of the Board of the CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL and served 2 terms, producing international Film Festivals in both Toronto and Hamilton.

Ron was the founder and past president of THE TALENT REPRESENTATIVES ASSOCIATION OF CANADA serving 3 terms over a six year period; and he recently retired as the President of the Board of Directors of Toronto’s award-winning ACME THEATRE COMPANY after ten successful years producing main stage plays and countless workshops of theatrical pieces in progress. Currently, Ron is the casting director of ABC Lifetime’s hit television series: “BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE,” and recently completed casting on the feature film “THE MARSH” for Norstar Entertainment.  Ron continues to donate his time and energy as moderator of the acclaimed LIFT Out Loud screenplay reading series, and is enjoying his second year working with Dean Armstrong and the ARMSTRONG ACTING STUDIO.
